This was my first ever gamejam and I decided to set myself the challenge of working in Godot and GDScript. As a solo entry (as I really didn't know what to expect) I tried my best to produce a working game within the theme, which this year was "Snow & Ice".

My first thoughts of games involving Snow and Ice was "The Long Dark" which is a very slow deliberate survival game. I thought what I wanted to create is something were battling the cold was the central theme and things like keeping fires going and managing your stats would be core. I wanted to break away from the usual survival crafting style and introduce NPCs who you could recruit and tasks with collecting resources for you, and your job was to take care of them so they can take care of you.

As I only had 48 hours I had to cut some things  short - I decided making a 2d game would be easier and meant learning how to make sprites, tilemaps and other elements. 

Sadly I ran out of time towards the end and didn't have time for a lot of assets like menus and artwork so I pulled out some AI generative crap. I will remove it at some point...
